more photos to come soon, but in the meantime i'll leave you with these girls tearin' it up.
stephanie and johan are my jam.
we skyped a few days before their wedding and they gave me a thumbs-up on my new snapback hat. (thanks, guys.) i got hugs all around when they arrived for getting ready photos.
johan was singing chainsmokers under his breath as i rode with him in the golf cart to their first look location. he told me everyone had been asking him if he was nervous and he wondered if it was ok that he wasn't.
family had flown in from sweden, where johan moved from before starting college at st. norberts.
i asked stephanie if johan would cry when she walked down the aisle, to which she laughed, saying in their six years together, she had never seen him cry. (spoiler: the cryers are never the ones you'd expect.)
to being your "serenity" on your wedding day (what kind words from you, s, as it was my pleasure); spending time on the dance floor with the both of you; to getting to know your dear families, both from different parts of the globe (even you, eric!); to talking politics with swedes and canadians until the last song, and then regrouping for don't stop believing; and to your thoughtful text the morning after your wedding. i don't say it lightly when i tell you that you were some of my favorite people to work with in 2016.

libby and john's overture for the arts wedding is on wisconsin bride magazine's website today! these lovebirds were married last spring, and i'd almost forgotten how stunning their day was until i relived it while viewing the feature today. (bonus points if you can find a couple of snaps that the BRIDE took of ME fishing her veil out of monona bay!)
johan and stephanie.
he's from sweden. she's from the states.
he plays and coaches hockey. she couldn't care less about sports.
they met the first day of class at st. norbert's college years ago, and now they're getting married.
and so i took the hike up to de pere, wisconsin on a warm-yet-snowy january saturday, drank some coffee at luna cafe (which is where, s+j told me, the packers' wives hang out pre-game), helped johan clean a fair amount of spilled coffee out of his shirt, pinged inappropriate jokes back and forth with the groom while the bride laughed, and had a hell of a time.
and that is that. june cannot come soon enough and i am over the moon to be a part of these stellar human beings' wedding day.
